Jordan Steel boasts a fully automated production line purchased from VAI-Pomini, a leading global player in the manufacturing of steel production equipment. The machinery incorporates the most advanced and novel technologies that enable full automation of the manufacturing process from the point of billet pre-heating till storage of final product. Needless to say this manufacturing process is controlled, tracked and recorded by the finest computer software technology, enabling full observation and spot quality checks of the product. This results in direct observation of equipment conditions, hence consistently delivering premium quality products to the customer.
Outstanding features of the production line include the following:
1.Online Heat treatment (Thermex™):
The addition of the Thermex™ system to the production line added flexibility to the process in enabling Jordan Steel to control and produce high quality steel products that conform to the mechanical properties of international standards. It is currently used in the production of 80-90 per cent of steel Rebars in Europe.
Recent research has proven that steel produced using this methodology yield better longevity while embedded in concrete, because the microstructure of the rebar is such that galvanic corrosion is minimized.
Additional benefits in using such a system include:
-
Higher corrosion resistance
-
Lower surface scale
-
Uniform steel micro structure
-
Higher concrete bonding strength
-
Possibility of producing at different International Standards
-
Improved weldability of the Rebar, depending on the billet used.
2. Bundle Sizes and Weights:
Concrete reinforcement steel bars (Rebars) are produced in diameters ranging from (8-32) mm and in commercial standard lengths of (12) m, special orders can be produced for lengths from (4) meters up to (25) meters. These bars are gathered and tied automatically by special tying machines in bundles each of a weight depending upon the size & length of the bars. Standard bundle nominal weight is (2) Tonnes for (12 meter) length Bundle. Other bundle weight ranges from (1-2) tons depending on the length.
Furthermore, a label is attached to each bundle showing size, length, weight, grade and date of production, thus allowing continuous traceability of each bar all the way back to the Billet consignment used and its source. This allows for direct evaluation of suppliers based on final acceptance or rejection of the customer.
Merchant flat and square bars are produced in a standard length of 6 meters and can be produced in other lengths upon special request. Bundle nominal weight is approx. (1.5) Tonnes for the standard length.
