Quality Assurance:

Jordan Steel received ISO 9002 certification in 1998. The system used has been continuously modified and developed. In more than 6 surveillance visits the system was verified and validated by the assessors and Jordan Steel continues to develop it in a manner consistent with International Certification Practices. The transfer to ISO 9001:2001 shall be ensuing in the near future.

The aim of the system is to work for the consistent assurance of quality and its management in a methodology that will ensure product quality and thus customer satisfaction. Additional factors, such as price applicability, Delivery schedules, material handling and marketing/sales follow-up are all conforming to the ISO 9000 system with one aim: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

Quality Control:

Quality control starts from the selection of suppliers and is controlled from the arrival of raw material (Billets) all the way to after sales support. Billets are initially classified according to their chemical composition and stored in predetermined locations. This is done to control the quality of the final mechanical specifications of the products.

Due to the nature of this industry, where in-process materials are not present, final product testing is done in a modern testing lab equipped with a computerized testing machine to measure mechanical properties. A printout showing the detailed results with a stress- strain diagram for each test is obtained and maybe directly provided to the customer upon request.

Finished goods are stored in intermediate quarantine until clearance from Quality Control and then are stored in the finished goods storage ready for shipment.

Production traceability is ensured through a label that shows the date of production and other information such as diameter, length, weight of bundle and grade. This quality system ensures the best way to trace any product back to its date of production to verify the different production conditions at that time and the source of raw materials used.
